Mercury Monitoring in Ambient Air
Ecotech supplies a wide range of mercury monitors for applications which include ambient air monitoring, process monitoring and emissions monitoring. We are distributors of mercury monitors from Opsis (Sweden), Arizona Instrument (USA) and Mercury Instruments (Germany).
Each company offers a unique solution designed to solve individual applications.
Ecotech is Australia's only total gaseous mercury calibration facility, Calibrating insturments from 10μg/m3 to 150μg/m3 with and true accuracy of 1.4%. Ecotech is able to calibrate a wide variety of mercury instruments, from hand held sensors to full analytical bench top instruments. Ecotech's mercury calibrations are N.I.S.T. traceable.
Arizona Instruments 405 Portable Mercury Vapour Analyser
| The Jerome® J405 portable mercury vapor monitor is redefining the portable mercury vapor analyzer market. Significant performance enhancements and modern communications capabilities have been combined to create a new option for mercury spill detection and cleanup analysis. The J405 utilizes the industry-proven, inherently stable and reliable gold film sensor technology and simple, one-button operation. The ergonomically-designed handle, lighter exterior case and significantly lower detection capabilities (0.5 μg/m3) have re-set the bar for portable and easy, low-level mercury detection instrumentation. |
 |
The larger display, on-board data logging, auto zeroing, and battery-powered sensor regeneration will simplify operation and maintenance in the field. Menu-driven programming, USB data communications and SCADA compatibility via 4-20 ma output further enhance data retrieval, storage and reporting.

Mercury Instruments VM-3000 Mercury Vapor Monitor
|
The VM-3000 Mercury Vapor Monitor can be used for continuous measurement of the mercury concentration in gases in laboratories as well as industry and mobile applications.
The VM-3000 uses a high-frequency driven electrodeless low pressure mercury lamp as UV source. This lamp emits lines of an extremely narrow bandwidth which are congruent with the absorption lines of the Hg atoms. Cross-sensitivities are thus minimized. The extremely high stability of the UV source in the VM 3000 is a result of the reference beam feedback control method. Total background noise is less than 0.1 µg/m³.
- Measuring ranges 0.1-100 / 0-1000 / 0-2000 µg/m3
- Proven reliable detection method: UV absorption
- Continuous operation
- Auto zero
- Integrated data logger (option), records up to 100 days of measuring
- Integrated battery for mobile use (optional)

Mercury Instruments UT-3000 Mercury Ultra Trace Mercury Monitor
| The UT-3000 Mercury UltraTracer provides a compact and reliable tool for measuring mercury in gases at ultra trace levels. Utilizing the high performance GoldTrap amalgamation module and an optimized state-of-the-art AA-mercury vapor detector the UT-3000 UltraTracer offers detection limits at sub-ng/m³ (ppq-parts per quadrillion) levels. |
 |
This instrument has many applications including:
- Air quality studies
- Monitoring of indoor air pollution
- Environmental pollution source tracking
- Plume profiling
- Pollution prevention

Mercury Instruments Tracker-3000 IP Mercury Tracker
|
The Mercury Tracker 3000 serves for measurement of the mercury concentration in air and other gases. It is lightweight compact and rugged.
The mercury concentration is measured in an optical cell entirely made of a high purity grade fused silica. A maintenance-free membrane pump continuously feeds the sample gas into the measuring cell where the attenuation of a UV beam is measured. Analytical wavelength used is 253.7 nm. This measuring method is called "Cold Vapor Atomic Absorption Spectrometry" (CVAAS) , which is extremely sensitive for mercury determination and is widely used for many years.
